In an effort to try and capitalize on the dwindling days of summer, I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Annapolis to spend some time on the Chesapeake Bay. Though the hubs hates spontaneity, he kindly agreed to accompany me and go boating. I'm glad he did, because we had a great time! The weather was perfect, and being on the water was soooo relaxing.
We admired the beautiful waterfront homes, viewed the U.S. Naval Academy, and stopped for ice cream at the ANNAPOLIS ICE CREAM COMPANY.
We also passed this nice Alex Haley monument.
If you live in the area and need a quick getaway, definitely give it a try. There are many family friendly boat and walking tours available. You can learn more about things to do in Annapolis HERE.
A boat ride and ice cream - sounds like a perfect way to spend a summer day. I really enjoy your tour. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Yuko.

ReplyDeleteThanks Fran. Annapolis is a lovely town. You are lucky to have family nearby.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWe have discovered you via the delightfully charming GSL and the comment which you left on his blog.
Annapolis looks to be utterly charming, just the sort of place which we should love to visit and explore. Sometimes these spontaneous events can be so much more satisfying than things one has planned for months. Less expectation and often they turn out to be truly magical, as clearly your time proved to be!
Hello Jane and Lance. Thanks for stopping by. I agree, unplanned trips are often lots of fun.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Annapolis is such a fun place to spend a day.

I agree, I really enjoy peaking at the world through the eyes of other bloggers. It gives me great ideas for new places to travel.
DeleteHello, thank you for visiting my blog today and leaving a comment, which is how I discovered yours. I enjoyed reading of your boating adventures. I've always lived close to water and cannot imagine living in a landlocked area.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I would love to live near water.
DeleteNice pics. While Annapolis is on my list of places to visit, your posting just raised it even higher. I enjoyed reading your post.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope you find time to visit. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
DeleteWhat a lovely area for boating and good food. It's on our to-do list. Your post may have moved it up the line.
ReplyDeleteSam
Hi Sam. Definitely make time to visit. It's a beautiful city filled with rich history.
DeleteHi, I stopped by to thank you for stopping by my place. I LOVE your home, and I am soooo jealous of where you reside. Boston/Maine/Maryland/RI/Vermont are all places that I would love to live. I sometimes get on craigslist and go to the real estate in those areas and just drool. I wanted to follow, but couldn't find a place to follow???
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, thanks. I love looking at real estate in other areas too :-) I just added a follow option on the right side bar. Thanks for pointing out it was missing.
