My small budget hasn't made things easier either. On many occasions I've thought, "To heck with that budget! I'm gonna spend every last penny to make this baby's room great." Luckily, I came back to my senses and kept the receipts on a few ridiculous purchases. Gotta prioritize....college before cute expensive baby crap. So without further ado here's my progress.
Tada, I painted that ugly red chest I had.
I think it looks a lot better in white, and for a little over 10 bucks to paint it and swap out the knobs, I couldn't be happier.
I also picked up a crib, the Davinci Jenny Lind 3 in 1, which converts into a toddler bed later on.
(Sorry for the terrible pic. This room is tiny and difficult to photograph). Next up I'll finish painting the walls, and tackle storage and seating. I hope to have everything finished in the coming weeks and will update you on the final result.
I hope all you mothers had a fabulous Mother's Day!
It's perfectly normal to want to set up your nest and I think you are doing a great job! The white chest looks lovely and the crib too! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gam, that's sweet of you :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the jenny lind crib and the white on the nightstand!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran.
DeleteYou're entitled to have a meltdown when you're expecting - you're growing a human baby inside and that's a lot to process. Your dresser looks great after painting - you did a great job! Looking forward to following along the process.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yuko.
DeleteLove the painted chest and that frame, so classic.

Love the crib - such a classic style. I scored my oldest daughter's Jenny Lind style headboard for $10.00 off of Craig's List last year - needless to say I was thrilled with that purchase. They go through things so quickly - if you can score some deals go for it and spend on what you absolutely love and can keep. Hormones for sure!! This time last year we were in the process of moving and I was 8 months pregnant so I know exactly where you're at :) Keep posting updates on the nursery - it's so much fun.
ReplyDeleteWow, $10........now that's a GREAT deal!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the new home and area man! Looking good!
